Owen has 4 years’ experience in the Construction Industry. His first experience in the Built Environment was as a Labourer, then Bricklayer on site and then to working in Estimating and now Quantity Surveying. At 21, he has worked on various projects around the UK, including Stadiums and Arenas (worked on Cardiff Arena), Residential Developments (bespoke properties valued upwards of £2.5 million), Infrastructure (worked on Surrey Quay Station for TFL) and Retail (mainly Supermarkets).
Now in his final year of his BSc (Hons) at Sheffield Hallam University studying Quantity Surveying and is looking beyond his final year at studying an MSc in either Construction Law and Dispute Resolution or an MSc in Property Development and Planning.
Having joined Ramskill Martin as a Junior Quantity Surveyor in January 2022, Owen assists Project Leads with dispute resolution and avoidance on University projects, Agricultural facilities, Lift Installations, Mechanical and Electrical works, and Cladding/Curtain Walling projects. Further to this, representing Clients, Contractors and Sub-Contractors covering a range of projects providing commercial and contractual assistance and advice.
Owen has gained experience on a range of projects including: Fit-Out, Mechanical and Electrical, Commercial and Heritage, as well as Property Refurbishment. The contracts Owen has worked on range from Bespoke Contracts, JCT Suite of Contracts and NEC. He assists the RM Team with Risk Management and Analysis, Claim Preparation, Tender Preparation (including but not limited to Schedule of Works, Take-Offs, Bill of Quantities, and ITT Documents), procurement and Expert Witness/ Advisor support as well as working with and for solicitors covering all aspects of Quantity Surveying Services.
Owen is a student member of the RICS and Ramskill Martin are supporting Owen towards his APC and working on his diary and competencies/training required to become a Chartered Quantity Surveyor.
Away from work, Owen is a keen footballer currently playing in the Northern Premier and County Leagues, he enjoys playing golf as much as he can and enjoys watching Sheffield United FC when he is not playing himself.
